• Through my artwork, I honor formative memories from my past. In recent years, I have come to realize that a large portion of my life has been experienced mindlessly. In the midst of my everyday routine, I had come to take the simple beauties of life for granted which had resulted in my day to day experience to feel under-stimulating and monotonous. After becoming aware of this, I started reflecting on memories that are vivid and lively in my mind. I call these experiences “lucid moments” and this is what exists at the core of my work.
It is through lucid moments where I explore themes of intimacy, loneliness and mourning possibility. Through scale and landscape, my intention is to capture the inward inquiry that can occur in the shadow of solitude.
In spring of 2024 I received my BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a focus in painting and painting material studies.
